Video Overview of the WordPress Administrative Dashboard Area

Powerful Digital Solutions WordPress Website

Do you find yourself confused or intimidated by the WordPress (WP) administrative dashboard area?

After I complete a website project, I always make a video tutorial for my clients so that they can understand how their website works. I also go over how they can log into the WP administrative dashboard and make certain changes and updates to their website.

I’ve had a few prospects and clients request that I do a general overview of the WP administrative dashboard to post to my blog. As I explain in the video, if your website is mycoolbiz.com, then you would access your WP administrative dashboard area by logging in at mycoolbiz.com/wp-login.php.

Most Common Back End Areas

As mentioned in the video, you’ll ignore about half the stuff you see in your administrative dashboard area. These are the most common areas you’ll access:

  1. Dashboard
  2. Posts
  3. Media Library
  4. Pages
  5. Appearance
  6. Plugins (on page 18 of my ebook Your Quick Guide to Website Success, I give a list of plugins I use for my personal and client websites)
  7. Settings (General & Permalinks)
  8. Divi (provided that you have the Divi theme installed)

I hope this video overview helps. This is just a small sample of the type of video tutorials I make for my clients.
